Mount Airy Museum of Regional History Director Talks Summer Events on WXII 12

We are thrilled to share that our Director, Matt Edwards, was recently featured on WXII 12's Up With You to talk all things summer at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History!

As Matt put it, "We keep busy in the summer with tourists and visitors, but we want to entertain our home crowd, too." That philosophy is at the heart of everything we've planned this season.

One of our most exciting offerings this July 4th is Voices for Freedom 2026: a completely free program sponsored by the North Carolina America 250 Grant. We expect this to be our best Independence Day celebration yet, with guided tours led by expert historical interpreters. And of course, we will have our Declaration of Independence reading right at 11am to kick off the parade!
