Tar Heel Junior Historians Club

The local chapter of the Tar Heel Junior Historian Association invites you to explore the rich history of Mount Airy and Surry County.

Since 1953, the Tar Heel Junior Historian Program has fostered a hands-on approach to learning about history. Based out of the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, the participating students from all across the state learn more about North Carolina history and their own local history.
