Surry County Digital Heritage Project is having their 2nd Public Scanning Day on May 3 here at the Museum and at Surry Community College Library. The purpose of this project is to create a digital historical record of people and places in our county and make these records available to the public. People are invited to bring and have scanned materials such as photographs, scrapbooks, ledgers, journals, club meeting minutes or anything else that might represent their local community in Surry County. Much of the scanning will be done on site however if there is an overwhelming response, we may request that it remain on temporary loan so it can be scanned and returned at a later date. Scanning Hours: Mt. Airy Museum of Regional History 10am - 5pm SCC Library 9am - 2pm
