Log Cabin

Return to Previous Page

One of the oldest known log houses in Surry County is the Robert James Hill House located in Westfield on Chinquapin Creek.  The family lived there from 1786 - 1844. The Museum has created an authentic reproduction of the Hill Cabin, using hand-hewn logs.

A copy of the December 1844 estate sale of the personal belongings from the state archives has helped to document the family holdings.
