An 8-ft Diorama depicts some of the many obstacles settlers crossing the Blue Ridge Mountains into the Hollows would have encountered.

Most were already weary from their month-long travel down the Great Philadelphia Wagon Road, but willingly pitched in to help one another cross the last great barrier between them and owning a piece of land.

The Hughes Map of early land grants, along with an index of early settlers, is also available in this exhibit.
