This buggy was purchased by a Fancy Gap, Virginia man as an anniversary present to his wife, and is on exhibit in the West Gallery of the first floor. It was purchased from the Martinsville, Virginia Buggy Company.

A buggy of this type was often used to transport tourists from the train depot to the many hotels in the region. Their baggage followed in a simple wagon.
